Heat Activated Reinforcements

Most Riedell skating boots provide for heat activated individualized fit. Ultra sensitive heat activated reinforcement provides the ultimate in comfort and support. The following procedure should be used for maximum effectiveness of Riedell’s heat activated individualized fit features.

1. Properly measure for correct skate size.
2. Preheat boots with hair dryer or heat gun.
3. Boots should be slightly warm, not hot to touch.
4. Use your fist to soften up the inside ankle area. Do not beat on outside of boot.
5. Place on skater’s foot, tap heels on carpet to seat foot in heel cup, and tie boots extra snug.
6. Leave skates on skater for 5 minutes.
7. Remove skates from skater’s feet, allow skater to relax their feet, replace skates on skater using normal lacing pressure, and leave on skater for 2 minutes.
8. If you are definitely keeping the boots, and a specific problem exists, remove skates; heat problem area with hair dryer or heat gun, and use a smooth tool to apply pressure to the problem area from the inside. This step makes boots non returnable.
9. Re-fit skates using normal lacing pressure.
10. Enjoy your new skates! Individualized heat activated fit complete.
