Why a "frame adapter"? To lengthen the interaxle (given by the distance between the two holes where the frame is fixed to the shell) and to allow any skate with a 165mm interaxled frame (frequent situation) to mount a 4X90mm or 4X100mm alu extruded frame (that needs a 195mm interaxle).
